When the owner of a 2011 Chevrolet Impala discovered his vehicle had been stolen in El Cajon, CA, on a recent Sunday morning, he hoped that the LoJack® system he had installed when purchasing his car would help law enforcement quickly recover his car. This victim’s wish came true as local police, assisted by LoJack, located it in just over a half hour after activation.

On February 2nd, 2014, the Chevy’s owner contacted the El Cajon Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Impala, which was installed at Enterprise Car Sales in El Cajon, CA.

Within minutes, officers from the El Cajon PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Chevy parked and abandoned in a commercial area. The undamaged Impala was retrieved and soon returned to its very happy owner.
