The Honda CR-V in our next case was stolen in Washington, DC, on a recent Saturday afternoon. Thanks to the great work from local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system, the vehicle was recovered and the thief arrested by dinner time that same day.

On March 1st, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the CR-V, which was installed at Pohanka Honda in Marlow Heights, MD.

A short while later, an auto theft detective from the DC Metro Police picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computer installed in her patrol vehicle. The detective located the Honda traveling on Southern Avenue and performed a traffic stop. Officers were able to stop the vehicle and arrest the driver. The undamaged CR-V was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
