The Queens, NY resident in this case exited a store after shopping one Wednesday afternoon and discovered her Honda Accord had been stolen from the parking lot. The LoJack® system she had installed when purchasing her car proved to be one smart buy. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered her vehicle quickly and safely.

On February 19th, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the NYPD 107th Precinct in Fresh Meadows, Queens, to report the crime. When the officers arrived at the scene they took a written report. This information was then entered into the NYPD stolen Auto Computer and the NCIC national computer. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Paragon Honda in Woodside, NY.

A short while later, NYPD officers from the 107th Precinct picked up the silent LoJack homing signal from the stolen Honda on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Officers located the Honda parked and abandoned on a residential street in Fresh Meadows. After a brief surveillance, the Accord was retrieved and soon returned to its elated owner.
