The owner of a Toyota Avalon in New Orleans, LA, discovered his vehicle missing from his home around lunchtime on a recent Thursday. Thanks to the LoJack® system that was installed when the car was purchased, the Avalon was recovered safely by dinner that same day.

On January 2nd, 2014, the Toyota’s owner contacted the New Orleans Police Department to report his car was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Avalon, which was installed at Toyota of Slidell, LA.

A few hours later, an officer from the NOPD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer found the Avalon parked and abandoned on a street near the riverfront. The Avalon was in great shape, and was quickly returned to its delighted owner.
