The LoJack® system is most famous for protecting cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles, but LoJack also has a product especially for construction equipment. These machines are very high in value and popular amongst thieves, which is why so many companies that own or lease them protect their assets with our product. In this case, a Bobcat S250 Skid Steer is stolen in Maryland and recovered in Virginia the same day, thanks to the great work of police assisted by LoJack.

On February 18th, 2014, the Bobcat’s owner contacted the Montgomery County Police Department to report the incident. Officers verified the theft and entered the skid steer information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Bobcat.

Later that same day, auto theft detectives from the Arlington County, VA Police picked up the homing signals from the stolen machine on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Bobcat at a construction site on Lorcom Lane. Investigation is ongoing. The undamaged skid steer was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
