It was just after 3 pm on a Monday when the owner of a Chevrolet Tahoe exited a strip mall in Kissimmee, FL, and discovered his SUV was missing. This victim was grateful that there was a LoJack® system installed in his vehicle. With LoJack’s help, local police were able to recover the Tahoe in just 91 minutes after activation.

On January 6th, 2014, the Chevy’s owner contacted the Kissimmee Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Tahoe, which was installed at Mullahey Chevrolet in Fullerton, CA.

A short while later, officers from Kissimmee PD and deputies from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. They located the Chevy in the area of Hoagland Blvd and Tropical Isle Blvd., where it was parked and abandoned in a wooded area behind an apartment complex. The Tahoe was retrieved and soon returned to it happy owner.
