Fort Worth, Texas Police Recover Stolen MMD Generator Assisted by the LoJack® System

The companies that rent construction equipment are well aware of the black market for their assets. That’s why so many choose to protect their machines with the LoJack® system. In this case, a stolen MMD generator is recovered quickly and safely by local police with help from LoJack.

On February 21st, 2014, the company renting the MMD discovered it missing and immediately contacted the Fort Worth Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the generator.

A short while later, officers with the Fort Worth PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen machine on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The MMD was found hidden between two apartment buildings with its trailer attached to a pickup truck. The generator, valued at $34,000, was recovered in good condition and soon returned to the job site.
