When the owner of a Honda Civic exited a mall on a recent Friday morning, an individual approached, took her keys and then her car. This victim called police right away to have the LoJack® system that was installed in her car activated. With LoJack’s help, local police recovered her vehicle quickly, safely and without damage.

On February 21st, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Anne Arundel County Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Civic.

Within a short period of time, officers from the Howard County PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Honda parked on High Tor Hill in Columbia, where they also arrested a suspect. The Civic was quickly retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
