When your car, truck, van or motorcycle is stolen, you report the crime to your local police and hope that they will find your vehicle and return it to you. The purpose of the LoJack® system is to assist law enforcement in the safe and speedy recovery of stolen vehicles. In this case a Dodge Dakota missing in Denver, CO, is recovered the same day it was taken.

On January 14th, 2014, the Dodge’s contacted the Denver PD to report that their vehicle was stolen. The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Dakota, which was installed at Colorado Springs Dodge in Colorado Springs, CO.

A short while later, officers with Denver PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen truck with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers tracked the Dodge to the area of Asbury and St. Paul, where it was found parked and unoccupied. Police retrieved the Dakota and soon returned it to its very happy owner.
