The LoJack® System Helps Portland, Oregon Police Bureau Recover Stolen Honda Accord in One Hour

Having your vehicle taken is not a very romantic way to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Luckily, this Honda Accord discovered stolen in Portland, OR on February 14th, 2014, was protected by the LoJack® system, so local police were able to recover it in just one hour after activation, and the victims in this case could stop worrying and get back to enjoying their day.

When the Honda’s owners discovered their car was gone, the immediately reported the theft to the Portland Police Bureau. Officers verified the information and entered the VIN into the NCIC stolen vehicle database.  This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Honda of Thousand Oaks, CA.

Less than one hour later, Portland officers received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in  their patrol cars.  The Honda was located near the intersection of SE Morrison and SE 119th Streets where it was found parked and abandoned. Police retrieved the undamaged Accord and returned it to its relieved owners. This was the third time this vehicle had been stolen and recovered by police assisted by LoJack.
