The LoJack® System Helps Houston, Texas Police Recover Stolen 2013 Toyota Highlander

When the Houston, TX resident in this case purchased his 2013 Toyota Highlander and decided to have a LoJack® system installed, he probably did not expect his vehicle to be stolen just one month later. However, that was the case, and thanks to his local law enforcement, with an assist from LoJack, the SUV was recovered quickly and safely that same day.

On February 4th, 2014, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Houston Police and reported that his vehicle was stolen from his residential driveway sometime during the previous night. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Highlander, which was installed at Mike Calvert Toyota in Houston, TX, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, an officer from the Houston PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer discovered the Toyota abandoned in a parking lot. The Highlander was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
