Early on a recent Sunday morning, the owners of a Honda Civic discovered their vehicle missing from their home, where they had parked it the previous evening. Thanks to the LoJack® system installed when the car was purchased, it wasn’t missing for long. Local police, with help from LoJack, recovered the Civic in less than a half hour after activation.

On February 9th, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Hialeah Police Department to report their vehicle stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Maroone Honda of Miami, FL.

Within minutes of activation, Miami PD officers picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officer located the Honda on N.W. 11th Street where it was found parked and abandoned. The undamaged Civic was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
