It was about 2 am on a Thursday when the owners of a Toyota Tacoma in Baltimore, MD, discovered their pickup had been stolen. Thanks to local law enforcement, and the help of the LoJack® system installed when the truck was purchased, it was recovered that same day, quickly and safely.

On February 13th, 2014, the Toyota’s owners contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Toyota, which was installed at Jerry’s Toyota in Baltimore, MD.

A short while later, officers from the Baltimore County PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Toyota on Chestnut Oak Avenue, where it was parked and unoccupied. The undamaged Tacoma was retrieved and soon returned to its appreciative owners.
