Houston, Texas Police Recover Stolen Toyota Tacoma with Help from the LoJack® System

You never know where or when your vehicle could be stolen- from your home, from a grocery store, a parking garage, or, like the Toyota Tacoma in this case, from your work parking lot in Houston, TX. On February 13th, 2014, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Houston Police Department and reported the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Tacoma, which was installed at Mike Calvert Toyota in Houston, TX.
A short while later, officers from the Houston PD major offender division picked up the homing signals from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officer located the Toyota in a residential area near Elgin and Live Oak Streets, where it was hidden in the back yard of a vacant home. The Tacoma was recovered and soon returned to its very glad owner.
