On a recent Monday morning, the owners of a Ford F-250 pickup were shocked to discover it had been stolen from their Hialeah, FL home. Local law enforcement was able to recover the truck in less than two and a half hours thanks to the LoJack® system installed inside the F-250.

On January 13th, 2014, the Ford’s owners contacted the Hialeah Police Department to report their vehicle stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the F-250, which was installed at Plantation Ford in Plantation, FL.

A short while later, Miami-Dade PD officers picked up the homing signal from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers located the truck near N.W. 56th Street and N.W. 7th Avenue, where it was found parked and abandoned. The F-250 was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owners.
