When an auto dealership in Colorado Springs, CO, discovered a Lincoln Navigator missing from its inventory, they were relieved that this SUV was protected by the LoJack® system, since, with LoJack’s assistance, local law enforcement recovered the vehicle that same day.

On February 11th, 2014, the dealership management contacted the Colorado Springs Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the stolen Navigator.

A short time later, officers and investigators with the Colorado Springs PD and Colorado State Patrol, including members of the BATTLE Auto Theft Task Force, picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The Lincoln was located was being driven southbound.  CSP troopers eventually closed on the vehicle and made a traffic stop in Walsenburg. The two passengers, who had stolen credit cards in their possession and were wanted on a variety of warrants for other crimes, were taken into custody, and the Navigator was soon returned to the very happy dealership.
