Stolen Ford F-250 Pickup Recovered in 48 Minutes by Miami-Dade, Florida Police Assisted by the LoJack® System

When a Ford F-250 pickup was stolen out of a parking space in Cutler Bay, FL, its owner found out firsthand the benefit of having the LoJack® system to protect your vehicle. With LoJack’s assistance, local law enforcement was able to recover the truck in less than an hour after activation.

On February 5th, 2014, the Ford’s owner contacted the Miami-Dade Police Department to report their vehicle stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the F-250, which was installed at Maroone Ford of Miami, FL.

A short while later, a Miami-Dade PD officer picked up the homing signal from the stolen pickup on their onboard LoJack tracking computer.  The officer, along with backup, located the Ford, parked and abandoned in a grocery store lot. The F-250 was soon returned to its grateful owner.
