It was just after midnight on a chilly Tuesday morning when these Baltimore, MD residents discovered their Toyota Avalon had been stolen.  Thanks to the LoJack® system that was installed when the car was purchased, it only took local police a little over 90 minutes to recover it.

On February 11th, 2014, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Avalon, which was installed at Russel Toyota in Baltimore, MD, was then automatically activated.

Within a short period of time, patrol officers from the Baltimore City PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Toyota parked and unoccupied in a rear alley behind Barrington Road in Baltimore City. The undamaged Avalon was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
