Early on a recent Monday evening, the owner of a 2010 Nissan Pathfinder discovered it had been stolen from his Bronx, NY residence.  He also discovered the value of the LoJack® system he had installed when purchasing his SUV. With LoJack’s assistance, local police were able to recover the vehicle quickly and safely.

On February 3rd, 2014, the Nissan’s owner contacted NYPD to report his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the NYSPIN and NCIC state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Pathfinder, which was installed at Meadowlands Nissan in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ.

A short time later, officers from the Bronx DA’s Auto Squad, picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers spotted the Nissan on the move in the 41st precinct. They finally located it parked and abandoned on Longfellow Ave. After a brief surveillance, two suspects entered the SUV and drove away, but were apprehended in a parking lot and taken into custody. The undamaged Pathfinder was soon returned to its extremely happy owner.
