On a recent Sunday morning, these Philadelphia, PA residents awoke to find that the first floor of their residence had been burglarized. The news got even worse when they looked out to the driveway and discovered the thieves had stolen their 2010 Toyota Camry as well. Their local police, with the assistance of the LoJack® system installed in the car, made this wretched situation a little bit better by recovering the vehicle in less than an hour after activation.

On January 12th, 2014, the Toyota’s owners called Philadelphia Police to report the incident. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the Philadelphia Police Computer System. This entry automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Camry, which was installed at Central City Toyota in Philadelphia, PA.

A short while later, officers from the Philadelphia PD 18th District picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Toyota parked and abandoned on South Millick Street. After a brief surveillance, the Camry was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owners.
