When a Decatur, GA resident took a vacation, his 2009 Nissan Maxima was stolen from his home. Thanks to the LoJack® system installed in the vehicle, local police were able to safely recover his car that same day.

On January 12th, 2014, the Nissan’s owner contacted DeKalb County Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Maxima, which was installed at Tischer Acura/Nissan in Laurel, MD.

A short while later, a DeKalb County PD flight officer picked up the homing signal coming from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his helicopter. He located the Nissan parked and unoccupied near an abandoned warehouse and notified ground units. The Maxima was retrieved in good condition and soon returned to its thankful owner.
