The owner of a Land Rover Range Rover in League City, TX, awoke on a recent Thursday to find his SUV missing from his driveway. The LoJack® system that was installed when the vehicle was purchased proved its worth by helping local law enforcement recover it safely that same day.

On January 2nd, 2014, the Land Rover’s owner contacted the League City Police Department and reported that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Range Rover, which was installed at Land Rover of Alexandria, VA.

A short while later, US Customs officers assigned to the Port of Galveston picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Customs officers found the Land Rover traveling on a public street on Galveston Island. The officer called for a Galveston PD officer to assist. After a brief pursuit, the occupants pulled over the vehicle and fled. The Range Rover was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
