Imagine waking up on a Saturday morning to find your vehicle missing from your driveway. That happened to a Detroit, MI resident recently when his Honda Accord was stolen. His weekend was saved thanks to local law enforcement assisted by the LoJack® system. With LoJack’s help, the Accord was recovered in just 49 minutes after activation.

On January 4th, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Detroit Police Department to report the crime.  Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Maroone Honda in Hollywood, FL, was then automatically activated.

Shortly after, officers with the Detroit PD and Wayne State University Police picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their cruisers.  The officers found the Honda in the area of Wayne State University, where it was parked and unoccupied.  The Accord was quickly retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
