The victim in our next case made a habit of parking his Saturn SL unlocked, with the keys in the glove compartment, at his apartment building. Unfortunately, a thief entered his car overnight, found the keys and took off with the vehicle. The LoJack® system installed in the SL helped save the day by assisting local police in recovering the car in less than 90 minutes after activation.

On January 1st, 2014, the Saturn’s owner contacted the Raleigh Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the SL, which was installed at Saturn of Glen Burnie, MD.

A short while later, officers of the Raleigh PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers found the Saturn at an apartment complex off St. James Church Road, where it was parked and abandoned. The investigation is ongoing. The undamaged SL was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
