It was just after midnight on Christmas Day when a Louisiana resident started up his wife’s Honda Accord to warm it up and went back inside, unwittingly creating an easy opportunity for a thief passing by. When the victims discovered their vehicle was gone minutes later, they immediately contacted local law enforcement, who activated the Accord’s LoJack® system and recovered it in just 72 minutes after activation.

The Honda’s owner reported the crime to the Kenner, LA Police on December 25th, 2013. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Accord was then automatically activated.

A short time later, a Kenner PD officer picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officer located the Honda on a street in Kenner, where it was parked and unoccupied. Evidence was found at the recovery scene that helped identify a suspect. The Accord was retrieved and quickly returned to its grateful owners.
