When a Ford Expedition was stolen in South Carolina recently, the LoJack® system the owners had installed when purchasing their SUV proved to have been a very worthwhile investment. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered the SUV that same day, quickly and safely.

On December 23rd, 2013, the Ford’s owner contacted the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office to report that their vehicle was stolen. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Expedition, which was installed at Koon’s Ford in Baltimore, MD.

A short while later, deputies from the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office picked up the homing signals from the stolen Ford on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies located the Ford being driven on Interstate 95 and quickly set up a traffic stop. The driver was taken into custody, and the Expedition was soon returned to its owner.
