In this case, the owner of a Jaguar XJ had dropped his car off at a friend’s house in New Orleans, LA, for a minor repair. While his friend was working on it later that day, he went inside to retrieve a tool and upon return discovered the vehicle had been stolen.  The LoJack® system installed in the XJ helped local police recover it in just 92 minutes after activation.

On December 11th, 2013, the Jag’s owner reported the crime to the New Orleans Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the XJ, which was installed at Gullo Toyota in Conroe, TX, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, a trooper from the Louisiana State Police picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The trooper found the Jaguar being driven around the city and conducted a traffic stop. The three occupants were taken into custody and the XJ, which was in great shape, was soon returned to its very happy owner.
