Helping law enforcement recover stolen cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles quickly and safely is the goal of the LoJack® system, the ONLY stolen vehicle system that is operated by police. This next example features an especially fast retrieval- a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup found in less than 20 minutes after activation.

On December 23rd, 2013, the Dodge’s owner contacted the Fresno Police to report that his vehicle had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Ram, which was installed at AutoWest Dodge in Fremont, CA.

Just a few minutes later, a deputy from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen pickup with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The deputy located the Dodge in the vehicle to the vicinity of 9th and Ventura Avenues, where it found it parked and unoccupied at the side of the road. It was retrieved intact and undamaged and was soon returned to its relieved owner.
