The Garland, TX resident in this case got a huge shock on a recent Friday morning when he discovered that TWO vehicles were missing from his driveway- a 2013 Ford Focus and a pickup truck. Apparently the thieves broke into his truck and discovered the spare keys to the Focus inside. There was something inside the Focus that the crooks didn’t notice- the LoJack® system, which was concealed in the car’s interior, and assisted local police in recovering both vehicles in less than two and half hours after activation.

On January 3rd, 2014, the Ford’s owner contacted the Garland Police and made a report. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Focus, which was installed at Rockwall Ford in Rockwall, TX.

A short while later, a flight crew from the Texas Department of Public Safety picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their helicopter. They directed Garland ground officers to the location, where they found the Ford in an apartment complex lot, parked and abandoned. The stolen truck was located on the opposite end of the same lot. Both the Focus and the pickup were in good condition and were soon returned to their relieved owner.
