When the owner of a 2011 Mazda 3 parked it on a street on the north side of Chicago, IL, the last thing he suspected was that he would return to find it gone. However, that did happen, and our victim was prepared for the situation because he had the LoJack® system installed in his car when he bought it. Local police, with LoJack’s help, were able to recover the 3 in less than an hour after activation.

On December 29th, 2013, the Mazda’s owner contacted Chicago Police to report the crime Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle’s information into the LEADS and NCIC state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the 3, which was installed at Bob Barker Mazda in Carlsbad, CA.
