The Las Vegas, NV residents in this case had seen their Lincoln Navigator parked in front of their home that morning. Imagine their shock when they discovered it missing later that same day. The LoJack® system they had installed when purchasing their SUV had helped police locate it during a previous theft attempt, and LoJack came through once more, helping law enforcement locate the Navigator in just over a half hour after activation.

On January 3rd, 2014, the Lincoln’s owners contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department where a theft report was filed.  After verifying the theft, officers entered the stolen vehicle information into the NCIC stolen vehicle system. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Navigator, which was installed at Desert Lincoln in Las Vegas, NV.

A very short while later, officers with the LVMPD Northeast Area Command began picking up the homing signal from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Lincoln parked at a large apartment complex. Witnesses at the site had seen two male residents driving the SUV earlier that day. The keys were found in their unit. Both were arrested and linked to a series of auto burglaries in the same neighborhood where the current victim lived. The Navigator was soon returned to its relieved owners.
