The Boston, MA residents in this case woke up on a cold December morning to find their 2013 Subaru Impreza missing from outside their residence. It had only been nine months since they had purchased the car and had the LoJack® system installed in it, which was a really smart move. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered the vehicle in less than three hours after activation.

On December 30th, 2013, the Subaru’s owners contacted Boston Police to report the incident. BPD officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Impreza, which was installed at Cityside Subaru in Belmont, MA.

A short while later, Massachusetts State Troopers from the South Boston Barracks began picking up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The troopers located the Subaru on Goodenow Street, where they found it parked and unoccupied. The undamaged Impreza was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
