Imagine looking out of your window late on a weeknight and discovering that the vehicle you parked in the driveway earlier was missing. That was the experience of the Burton Township, OH resident in this case. The LoJack® system that was installed in his 2010 Infiniti M35 came to the rescue, helping local police recover the car quickly and safely.

On November 21st, 2013, the Infiniti’s owner contacted the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office to report the crime.  Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the M35, which was installed at Infiniti of Bedford, OH.

A short time later, several law enforcement agencies on the west side of Cuyahoga County picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Investigators with the Ohio State Highway Patrol Auto Theft Task Force located the Infiniti in a residential area of Lakewood, where they found it parked and unoccupied. After a brief surveillance, the M35 was retrieved and soon returned to its happy owner.
