On a recent Wednesday morning, the Florida residents in this case discovered their 2012 Ford Mustang missing from the driveway, where they had parked it the previous evening. These victims were glad they had decided to have the LoJack® system installed when buying their car, because, with LoJack’s help, their local police were able to recover the vehicle that same day.

On November 6th, 2013, the Ford’s owner contacted the Orange County Sheriff’s Office to report the crime. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Mustang, which was installed at Courtesy Acura in Sanford, FL.

A short while later, deputies from the OCSO SO K-9 Unit picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies located the Ford in a residential area in Pine Hills, where it was parked and abandoned on a common driveway behind a row of houses. The Mustang was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owners.
