This case involves a 2010 Toyota Corolla stolen from its owner’s home in Boca Raton, FL. Thanks to the excellent work of local law enforcement, and an assist from the LoJack® system, the car was recovered in less than four hours after activation.

On December 21st, 2013, the boyfriend of the Toyota’s owner contacted the Boca Raton Police Department to report their vehicle missing. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Corolla, which was installed at Al Hendrickson Toyota in Coconut Creek, FL.

Later that evening, a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputy picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on their on-board LoJack tracking computer. The officer located the Toyota in the parking lot of a restaurant on Okeechobee Boulevard in West Palm Beach. The two occupants of the vehicle were arrested, and the Corolla was soon returned to its relieved owner.
