It was just about 1 a.m. on a Friday when these Miami Gardens, FL residents discovered their Mercedes Benz CLS500 was not in front of their home where it had been parked the previous evening.  The owner’s choice to have the LoJack® system installed when purchasing their vehicle proved to be a good one- with LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered the car in less than a half hour after activation.

On November 22nd, 2013, the owner of the Mercedes contacted the Miami Gardens Police to report their vehicle stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the CLS500, which was installed at Lexus of Clearwater, FL, was then automatically activated.

A few minutes later, a Miami Gardens PD officer picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer located the Mercedes parked and unoccupied on N.W. 47th Court. The CLS500 was soon returned to its very thankful owners.
