When the manager of a used car dealership in Lake Worth, FL, sent a 2008 Audi Q7 out for repairs, the last thing he expected was that the SUV would be stolen from the repair shop’s locked and gated parking lot. When the unthinkable happened, the dealer was relieved that there was a LoJack® system installed in the Q7. Thanks to assistance from LoJack, the vehicle was recovered by local law enforcement in less than 90 minutes after activation.

On November 30th, 2013, the dealership contacted the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to report the crime. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Q7, which was installed at Braman Audi in West Palm Beach, FL.

A short while later, PBSO deputies picked up the homing signal from the stolen SUV on their on-board LoJack tracking computer.  The deputies observed the Audi on I-95 and Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard, and followed it until it entered a hotel parking lot on Belvedere Road. The driver parked the vehicle and was immediately taken into custody. The Q7 was retrieved and quickly returned to the used car dealership.
