When this Pembroke Pines, FL resident had the LoJack® system installed on her BMW 650Ci, she probably never expected it would be stolen by someone she knew. However, when an ex-boyfriend borrowed the convertible and did not respond to repeated requests to return it, local law enforcement, assisted by LoJack, located her vehicle in less than one hour after activation.

On December 2nd, 2013, the BMW’s owner contacted the Pembroke Pines Police Department to report the incident. The reporting officer had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the 650Ci, which was installed at Braman BMW in West Palm Beach, FL.

A short while later, a Miami Gardens Police Department officer picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer located the BMW parked and abandoned on N.W. 26th Court. The 650Ci was recovered and soon returned to its relieved owner.
