The Margate, FL residents in this case were away from home for four days. Upon their return, they discovered their Nissan Murano had been stolen during their absence.  The LoJack® system these victims had installed when purchasing their SUV assisted local law enforcement in a fast, safe retrieval of their vehicle.

On November 17th, 2013, the Nissan’s owner contacted the Margate Police Department to report their vehicle stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Murano, which was installed at Passport Nissan in Alexandria, VA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, a Miami-Dade PD officer picked up the homing signal from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer located the Nissan parked and abandoned on Northeast 59th Street. The Murano was recovered and quickly returned to its relieved owners.
