The 2010 Honda Accord in this case was stolen from its owner’s home just after 3 a.m. on a Friday morning. The theft was discovered thanks to the LoJack® Early Warning system installed when the car was purchased. Early Warning notifies the owner of a protected car, truck, van or motorcycle when their machine is moved without their permission by phone, text and email. The victim can then call local law enforcement right away to have their vehicle reported stolen and their LoJack activated immediately.

On November 1st, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to report their vehicle stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Braman Honda of Palm Beach in Green Acres, FL.

A short while later, a PBSO deputy picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on their on-board LoJack tracking computer. The deputy located the Honda parked and abandoned on Elmhurst Road. The Accord was recovered and soon released to its thankful owner, who told police this was the second time the car had been stolen and recovered using LoJack in the past two days.
