Lynnwood and Brier, Washington Police Departments Recover Stolen 2013 Lexus IS 350 in 50 Minutes Assisted by the LoJack® System

When the owner of a 2013 Lexus IS 350 had the LoJack® system installed at purchase in November 2013, he knew that protecting his vehicle against eventual theft was a smart idea. However, the benefits of LoJack really struck a chord with this driver when his car was stolen just one month later, and local law enforcement, with help from LoJack, recovered the IS 350 in less than one hour after activation.

The Lexus was stolen from the owner’s apartment complex parking lot overnight. When the crime was discovered on December 14th, 2013, it was reported to the Kirkland Police Department. Officers who entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the IS 350, which was installed at Lexus of Bellevue, WA.

A short time later, a Brier PD officer received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol car.  Lynnwood PD officers also received the signal and joined the tracking effort.  The Lexus was located in the lot of another apartment complex on 204th Street SW, where it was parked and abandoned. After a brief surveillance, the undamaged IS 350, valued at $49,000, was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
