The victim in this case waited two days to report the theft of his Toyota Camry in Portland, OR, because he thought a friend might have taken it. Despite the delay, the LoJack® system installed in his car helped law enforcement locate it in less than three hours after activation.

On December 18th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner reported the crime to the Portland Police Bureau. Officers verified the information and entered it into the NCIC stolen vehicle database.  This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Camry, which was installed at Norwalk Toyota in Norwalk, CA.

Later that same afternoon, a Vancouver, WA PD officer received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in her patrol car.  The Toyota was quickly tracked to Mill Plain Boulevard, where it was parked and abandoned. The undamaged Camry was soon returned to its thankful owner.  This event was the third theft and LoJack recovery of this car in just over two years.
