The owner of this Toyota Tacoma left the vehicle at a detail shop/used car sales business in Battleground, WA for detail work and consignment for sale.  The truck was stolen from the lot sometime during the month of November, but the dealership thought the owner had retrieved the truck himself.  When the owner contacted the dealership to inquire about the truck, the theft was discovered. Despite the time lapse between the theft and the activation of the LoJack® system installed in the truck, the recovery by police assisted by LoJack took less than three and a half hours.

On November 1st, 2013, the crime was reported to the Battleground Police Department. Officers entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. This process automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Tacoma, which was installed at McCord’s Vancouver Toyota in Vancouver, WA.

A short time later, a Portland Police Bureau officer received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol car.  The officer located the truck on NE Fargo Street, where it was found parked and abandoned. The undamaged truck was soon returned to its relieved owner.
