It was just before midnight on a Thursday when the owners of a Chevrolet Silverado noticed their truck was not where they had parked it earlier in Kingstowne, VA. The LoJack® system they had installed when purchasing their pickup proved to be a smart investment. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement retrieved the Silverado in just over a half hour after activation.

On December 19th, 2013, the Chevy’s owner contacted the Fairfax County Police Department to report the incident. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Silverado, which was installed at Stafford Dodge in Springfield, VA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the Fairfax County PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the Chevy to Farmington Drive in Springfield, where they found the pickup parked and unoccupied. They retrieved the Silverado and soon returned it to its grateful owners.
