Imagine the fright this Dallas, TX resident felt when he was carjacked at gunpoint one Saturday night. The criminals left with his wallet and keys as well as his 2008 Ford F-150. The LoJack® system hidden inside the pickup proved very useful by assisting local law enforcement in retrieving the truck in less than two hour after activation.

On December 14th, 2013, the Ford’s owner contacted the Dallas Police and made a report. Officers verified the carjacking and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This process automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the F-150, which was installed at Prestige Ford in Garland, TX.

A very short while later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the stolen pickup to North Adams Ave., where it was parked with a suspect standing next to it.  Upon seeing the officers, the suspect hid underneath the truck, but was quickly apprehended. The F-150 was recovered in good condition and soon returned to its grateful owner.
