The San Diego, CA resident in this case not only had her home burglarized but her Audi A4 taken by the perpetrators as well. The decision to have the LoJack® system installed when buying her car proved to be a smart move, because local police, with LoJack’s help, were able to recover her car in just over four and a half hours after activation.

On December 12th, 2013, the Audi’s owner contacted the San Diego Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the A4, which was installed at Miramar Volkswagen Audi in Miramar, CA.

A short while later, officers from the SDPD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers tracked the vehicle to a residential neighborhood in San Diego, where they found the Audi parked and abandoned.  The owner was very happy to have her undamaged A4 returned to her.
