The San Francisco, CA resident in this case had parked his Dodge Magnum on the street and discovered it missing one Wednesday afternoon. The LoJack® system he had installed when purchasing his car proved to be a worthwhile investment because, with LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered the Magnum in less than 90 minutes after activation.

On December 18, 2013, the owner of a 2005 Dodge Magnum discovered that his car was stolen from the street.  San Francisco Police verified the crime information and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at Serramonte Auto Plaza in Daly City, CA.

A short while later, San Francisco PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  Officers tracked the Dodge to the Castro District where it was stopped in traffic. The driver was taken into custody, and the undamaged Magnum was returned to its happy owner.
