It was right around dinnertime on a Wednesday when these West Valley, UT residents discovered their Kia Optima was not where they had parked it the previous evening. By contacting local law enforcement, the victims were able to have the LoJack® system installed in their car activated, so police could recover it quickly and safely.

On December 18th, 2013, the Kia’s owners discovered the car was missing and immediately contacted the West Valley City Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle into the state and national stolen vehicle file. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Optima, which was installed at Findlay Kia in Las Vegas, NV.

A short while later, an officer with the Salt Lake City PD began picking up the homing signal with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle.  The officer located the Kia traveling with three occupants. After a traffic stop, the driver was taken into custody and the Optima was soon returned to its happy owners.
