The owner of a Ford F-250 parked his truck, along with an attached trailer, in the parking lot of a Humble, TX motel where he was spending the night. When he got up the next morning, both vehicles were gone. The LoJack® system that was installed in the truck at purchase displayed its value by helping local law enforcement retrieve it that same day.

On December 4th, 2013, the Ford’s owner contacted the Humble Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered both vehicles’ information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the F-250, which was installed at Ford West in Bellflower, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the Houston Police Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the Ford to the parking lot of a large apartment complex on North Wayside, where it was parked, abandoned, and minus its trailer. The F-250 was recovered and soon returned to its grateful owner.
