The Honda Civic DX in this case was driven to work by its owner’s roommate on a recent Wednesday. When the roommate completed work, the vehicle was missing from the employer’s lot. The LoJack® system the owner had installed when purchasing his Civic came to the rescue for the third time, helping police track the car down in just over an hour after activation.

On December 11th, 2013, the Honda’s owner immediately contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. After verifying the theft, officers entered the stolen vehicle information into the NCIC Stolen Vehicle System. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Honda Cars of Boston, MA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers with the LVMP Downtown Area command began picking up the homing signal with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol cars. The officers quickly tracked the Honda to a residential neighborhood near Las Vegas Boulevard North and Bonanza Road, where it was parked and abandoned. The Civic was recovered and quickly returned to its grateful owner, who told police of two other incidents when the car had been stolen and later recovered thanks to LoJack.
